We are dedicated to providing quality education, investing in social welfare services for children in need, fostering a sustainable environment for all, and protecting vulnerable individuals in Ennerdale. We create a sustainable environment for learners and all those that access the centre.
We teach basic sewing skills to community members, especially women and young people. This will help them start their own businesses, find jobs, and improve their lives, especially for those taking care of orphans. We’re also offering sewing as a fun extra activity for students at The Leadership College-Osizweni!
Osizweni Community Centre attempts to lower food insecurities through the establishment of a day feeding scheme and the creation of a community food garden that is utilised to create meals for the children. The Centre provides meals to all learners, bridging the nutrition gap identified in a survey showing many OVC households can't afford three meals a day.
The OCC project is a needs-based holistic participatory project. In collaboration with the Department of Education, Department of Agriculture and Department of Health. The centre food gardens, support groups, counselling services, training and awareness campaigns for the mothers and guardians.
Through the OCC the community, particularly vulnerable children and their guardians, have been provided with integrated support and care services primarily. The vulnerable children helped at the centre are able to meet their educational, financial, nutritional, health, physical and development needs through programmes tailored specifically to meet their needs.
